🌄 Lopinot to Las Lapas Forest Walk

Take a trip back in time along the footpath of our ancestors. Before the roads we know today, forest trails connected villages hidden in all corners of Trinidad. One such footpath is Las Lapas Trace, a mountainous trail that takes us from the Lopinot Valley to the breathtaking Las Lapas Lookout. Las Lapas Lookout, perched along the Arima-Blanchisseuse Road in Trinidad, offers an unparalleled vantage point for witnessing the grandeur of the Northern Range. This lookout is a hidden gem, tucked away in the lush, verdant heart of Trinidad’s tropical landscape. As you stand at Las Lapas, you’re treated to a sweeping panorama that stretches across the undulating hills and dense rainforest canopy, offering a symphony of green hues that soothe the soul. Join us for this unique adventure and reconnect with nature while exploring the rich history of Trinidad and Tobago.

What to Expect:
An exhilarating uphill climb on a combination of pitch and dirt roads, leading into a pristine forest canopy. The trail follows an old road that existed during plantation days that connected Lopinot to Blanchisseuse via Las Lapas. The trail is a 6km one way walk along a wide gravel trail that has an uphill ascent until we reach the forest canopy where it becomes flatter and cool for the rest of forest walk until Las Lapas. Feel the cool mountain air on your face as you breathe in the fresh, invigorating atmosphere. This hike is both challenging and relaxing, providing a perfect blend of challenge and tranquility.

Trek Details:
Duration: 1 1/2 – 2 hours uphill at a slow pace, and 1 hour or less for the return journey. Enjoy the lush greenery, serene environment, and spectacular views.
